Ewan's Party Lolly bags

Check these out! They turned out exactly as I had imagined them. Pretty cool, hey. Black for boys and purple for girls.

Spring has arrived

Spring has most definitely arrived. How can I tell; the weeds are out of control, Brad mows the lawn and within 2 days it needs to be mowed again, I have a continuous sinus infection, Ewan's eczema plays up and the sun is shining. There has to be at least one positive sign.

The Feral

And you wonder why we call her The Feral. An affectionate term but none the less, very accurate.

Pretty Ballerina

This is a world famous ballerina in the making. Can't ya tell. Well not exactly but you have to start somewhere.

Ewan has glasses

Ewan had another eye test and the optometrist said it would be better to have glasses. Ewan was very keen on the idea (for the moment) and we picked them up tonight. He wore them all night. We discovered that there were going to be rules with the glasses. 1. don't leave them on the lounge, 2. don't leave them on the floor, 3. don't leave them on the arm of the chair, 4. do put them on the tv cabinet, 5. don't leave them with the lens lying on the surface, 6. do put them in their case, 7. don't call the glass case your purse, 8. don't clean the lens with your top, 9. do clean the lens with the proper cloth. So these are just a few rules we made up within 2 hours. Oh the joys.

Ewans first trophy

I forgot to tell everyone that Ewan got a trophy for Taekwondo. I have to say that I was a little shocked when he brought it home. I looked at Brad and thought, "Whats that for?" He was a little messy when he did his grading but it must also go on what happens in the weekly sessions. He was very proud. Its funny because when he shows anyone his moves he is really strong and focused but I have seen him, distracted and not forceful. Maybe he was bored when he did his grading. I know I was.

Ewans 6th Birthday Invitations

Its getting to that time of year AGAIN, and as usual we have to decide on a theme. What to do, but make it easy, nothing too extravagant. Ummmm, I know exactly - Superhero's
Yes, I know we have used Spiderman but this incorporates Batman & Superman aswell as Spiderman. The girls should not be forgotten because we could have Wonderwoman and Violet and Elastagirl (The Incredibles). Wahoo, we have a theme, now for the cake and invites.
Google is our friend. The cake decoration was very easy to find. Dee can make that, no worries. She has become our resident bakery expert. Share the jobs around I say. Sole Traderships are over rated. She was happy with the design and didn't do that (OMG) face. This is a plus.
Unfortunately for me, I have a thought in my head as to what the invites will look like. Yes, they are made from scratch, yes they involve Ewans face or features, yes it has to be a big production. Why else would you do it? Finding the building picture was the hardest thing and I still haven't mastered the concept of the invitations fitting into a standard size envelope. This would take the fun out of it. I also need to find a way of cutting out more than one picture at a time, because when you add it all up, it becomes a lot of cutting. 20 invites, 3 characters per invite, 3 Ewan photos per invite. See what I mean. Anyway, they turned out exactly how I pictured them, so I am very pleased with them.
Next, my thoughts will turn to the lolly bags, decorations and games. I'm hoping to include a pinata, but Brad is not keen on the idea. Party pooper.

Information Session for Uni

I did the dumbest thing I have ever done the other night. I dragged Brad along to a couple of Uni Information Sessions. He didn't whinge too much, however he was bribed with a free sausage sizzle and coffee. And thank god for feedback sheets, because what would he have doodled on? He did a magnificent drawing of the Mad Max car and promptly let me know it by elbowing me in the ribs. "Hey, look at what I drew". Yeah, no worries Brad, I'm glad you are taking it ALL in. Next time I won't bother.

Applied for Uni

Alright. I've done it, I have applied for Uni. A couple more stages to go. I still have to do the STAT workshop in October. Sit the STAT test (need all the help I can get there) in November and by mid January I should know if I got in, and into what. By that time, it will have been a full year, from when I started this crazy project. Then the real fun begins. Arranging my schedule, arranging Alicias schedule, arranging work, helping Ewan with his schooling. Brad will have to sort himself out. Should I shoot myself now. And NO Natasha I am not getting ahead of myself. Would I do that????? You know me too well.
Lets start again, I need to be accepted first. Oh thats right. I'm excited and would be even more excited if I was given that redundancy. Maybe I should check out that new clairvoyant and see what she has to say.....
