Swings are fun.

Alicia loves the swing and always has. But it is such a time consumer that we are finding it difficult to get out there for a swing. The other day it was so lovely that you had to be in the swing. I got some great photos, (see Flickr) and Alicia had a good time. We sang songs and talked. It was a good waste of time.

All Ford Day in SA

Ewan went to the All Ford Day with Brad. A boys bonding session. Too bad Ewan whinged as soon as they got there. But he did get to sit in a sprint car which he thought was pretty cool.

Camerons 2nd Birthday

Cameron turned two at the beginning of this month and he had Wiggles birthday party. If you know Cameron, that is definitely what he would have preferred. He is made on Wiggles (poor Leanne and Steve) I feel for them. He had a good day and run a muck which is what they are supposed to do, apparently. He's come a long way and he is doing really really well. He won't stop talking and is very very loud and Alicia and Cameron get on really well.

They both play up to each other and have a great time. I think they could get into a lot of trouble as they grow up together. One eggs the other on already.

Deirdre did a marvelous job of the cake (again) Just imagine what she is going to pull out of her hat once the kids reach 10!!!!! Don't worry Dee, we may give you a year off every now and then.

Happy Birthday Cameron.

Dr Seuss is cool

I've gone a little made, buying Dr Seuss books. I even bought one from ebay!!!! I think my obsessive compulsive side has raised its ugly head. I got a listing of books by Dr Seuss and have taken it upon myself to buy every single book. As I said, obsessive compulsive. You have to admit they are cool, even if they don't make sense most of the time. Ewan loves them and Alicia will eventually take to them. At the moment they are boring and too long. We have a ritual, where Ewan will pick two books and we will read them in bed. Usually it will only take one book for him to fall asleep but he does prefer The cat in the Hat versions. I suppose I will see how long this fad lasts. At the moment, there is no end in sight.

So good night, go to bed. I bet you are a sleepy head. ha ha ha ha

Suishi

I made suishi all by myself. I had tried to make it for two days and then finally I had enough time. Cooking the rice is the easy bit, along with cutting up the avocado, cucumber and opening the cans of tuna. Rolling the rolls, ah ah ah not quite that easy. If you didn't look at it, but just ate it, you would think they turned out pretty good. And it did look better once I cut them into little segments.

Well its another feat I can add to the C.V. Its certainly getting longer in terms of cooking items. My dad would be proud.

Ewans Spaceship

Ewan can be very creative when he wants to. He decided to make a spaceship out of lego Saturday morning. He brought it to me for recognition, which I gladly gave because it looked pretty cool. Then he showed me the best bit, he undid a couple of blocks to reveal a lego man sitting in the cabin. Now it may not seem much, but I was really really impressed with his engineering skills. I wouldn't have thought to stick a lego man IN the spaceship. I would have just stuck him on the top. He was very proud of it too, because he asked for it to go on the computer ie the blog I was working on. I don't know how he does it sometimes.

Dads Fried Gnocchi

Have you ever tasted my dads fried gnocchi? If you had, you would be coming back for more. It's been a long time since dad cooked gnocchi, I can't remember the last time. It was before Ewan was born. Well he managed to cook it again the other day. Maybe because he is bored since he retired. I don't care, we get fried gnocchi!!!
I was speaking the other day with mum and she happened to mention that dad was cooking, but.....if you wanted some, you had to go there. I don't need to be asked twice. So we did.
When we got there we had to try it once, twice, three times, well you get the picture. Mum emptied half of the bowl into another container for us, and you guessed it, it was gone by the next day. The gnocchi was lucky I was at work for the day otherwise it wouldn't have lasted past breakfast.
Thanks dad for the gnocchi and next time we would like crumbed calamari.

8th Anniversary

Yes, we made it. We have been married 8 years. And I'd just like to point out it hasn't rained since on the 6th March.
If you haven't heard this before, the day we got married it continually rained. It wasn't cold and it didn't bucket down, but it did rain and the garden wedding we were supposed to have, never happened.
It ended up a beautiful day anyway, but we did see a couple of brides that had gotten wet (poor things).
Funnily enough where we got married and the reception area (same place) is now being converted to apartments. The old Hotel Adelaide is no more. But we certainly have some great memories including after the reception, when we were all drinking at the cocktail bar.
