Alicia misses Ewan

Alicia has asked for Ewan all day. This is the first day without him whilst being at home. She asked for him yesterday when she got home from child care but he was home already. We dropped him off at school today and then we went to the shops before we tried out Kindermusik for the first time. I think she had a good time but I don't think it is for her at the moment. We will give something else a go, or maybe delay it a little. She's actually asleep at the moment which is a small miracle. I didn't think she would go down so early but she has too because we have to pick up Ewan.

Tae Kwon Do

Ewan had a few firsts this month. He also started Tae Kwon Do. We had a couple of lessons and then we bought the uniform. Again he takes everything in his stride. He doesn't talk about it too much but enjoys it when he's there. We have to expose him to different things, otherwise how is he gonna know what he likes. Yes, we are busy, busy, busy

Ewan starts school

Ewan started school yesterday and seemed to have a good day. It was absolute mayhem in the morning with mums, dads, grandparents in the classroom. You name it, I think they were there. Too, too many people I thought. We found our name tag, we found our locker and we found where we were sitting, so in my mind we had already succeeded. On the desk was a piece of paper with THIS IS MY FAMILY written on it. Ewan started to draw our family and I named who the people were. The bell rang and it was time to leave. I wanted to make sure that he knew where his lunch and hat were, so I started to explain in a rushed voice. Ewan pipes in and says, "Mum, I'm drawing." I took this to mean, can you please shut up and let me concentrate. He finally finished and I also finished my hurried talk.
Ewan was fine, he didn't want to talk too much but just enough. I got a snap shot of his day and he settled down to his new DVD. Life has changed and school life has started, we have entered another chapter.

Drink Please mum

What do you think is going on here? This is the scene that I confronted whilst walking into the kitchen. I'm not sure if it all got too hard for Alicia so she gave up, or she was distracted by something else, or she may not have even tried as yet. I just know how lucky I was. Of course, I proceeded to fill her drink bottle and remove the evidence. God knows what could have happened. You're right we all know what could have happened, someone was smiling upon me.

Newest edition to the Pearson Household

Everyone, especially Leanne, welcomed little Keira Belle into the world on Monday 14th Jan 2008. She was a lovely 9 pounder, almost tripling Camerons weight and is doing very well. Alicia and Ewan wanted a hold, but Alicia is particularly partial to Keira and wanted to hold her very live doll most of the time. Hopefully she grows out of it very soon. Yeah right.

Ewan telling the time

He explains to me today, its 1 o'clock. He is actually correct. I say what makes you say that. Well????? The big hand is on the 1 and the little hand is on the 1. Close enough.

Ewan and his words of wisdom No 5

When you have to have Claratyne (medicine) to stop your allergies, and you don't really want it, say "Here goes nothing" Apparently it works better.
Oh, and never underestimate what pet they could ask for. Ewan has decided, "When I get to 17 I'm gonna have a pet dragon." Great, where am I gonna keep that. It can't possibly sleep on the bed!!!! Wouldn't you love to be inside Ewans head, even for a day.

Kids Birthday Parties

Alicia attended her first birthday party by herself. Ewan wasn't invited because it was a little girls from child care that Alicia hangs around with. Ewan is a master of this type of birthday but Alicia handled it very well. She did wonder why Ewan wasn't coming but wasn't too fussed. She gave Sophie a kiss and a cuddle goodbye and thanked her for her invitation. I'm sure they will have a lot to talk about at child care when they next see each other.

Laundry is ALMOST finished

Brad has done a great job on the laundry. He almost finished it in his two weeks off and it looks great. It actually makes you want to wash. Go figure. A couple more things to do, paint, plinth, silicon. I would love the ensuite to be finished as quickly.

Up, Up and away

Ewan knows the meaning of up, up and away thanks to Brad. They are starting to be creative now and have developed some awesome manoeuvres.
