Stephanie and Matts 1st house

Ain't it grand to be in debt. That's what Steph and Matt have embarked on. I remember it being a great feeling, not so much now but 10 years ago it was good. Yep, we have owned our house for 10 years. Yes, we will have been married for 10 years next March. Whoosh, there it goes. I hope the next 10 years don't go so fast. We have in that time achieved a lot, been in debt, been out of debt, gone overseas, renovated a house and had two little kidlywinks. Not to mention changed jobs. I hope Steph and Matt have as much fun, experiences, headaches and momentous occasions. Why not. That's called LIVING. Congrats to you guys.

New bathroom on its way

I told you it wouldn't take long. Brad demolished the main bathroom on the weekend. It is currently a pile of dirt in a big hole. He assures me that all is good and its on track. Time to order the new window and Sean will be back to plumb it tomorrow. I'm already sick of the dust and dirt. Hopefully we will have a very lovely looking slab before the weekend.

The ensuite is almost finished

Praise the Lord....The ensuite is basically finished. All I need is a soap dish and shelf installed. We have both of these items but have been a little confused as to where they should live in the shower. However, we are using the ensuite as we should. It is absolute bliss. Considering we have never had a separate shower, only a shower/bath. It is huge and more than one person can fit, don't ask me how I know this. I will give Brad about 2 weeks before he starts to demolish the main bathroom, so if we thought 4 people using the main bathroom was messy, imagine the ensuite with 4. I'll have to come up with new rules.

Laundry is ALMOST finished

Brad has done a great job on the laundry. He almost finished it in his two weeks off and it looks great. It actually makes you want to wash. Go figure. A couple more things to do, paint, plinth, silicon. I would love the ensuite to be finished as quickly.

Brad is at it again

We still haven't finished many many jobs on the house but Brad had/has decided to trash the laundry, so currently I am washing in the shed. I have given him 2 weeks to have it completed and I bet there is an excuse as to why it won't be. They did stumble on an issue and that would be where the pipes were located. So not only are they relaying the pipes for the laundry but also the bathroom. One positive note, Brad can sure demolish anything and everything quite quickly. Wish ME luck.

The study is almost clear

Oh Mr Hart, what a mess. Brad and I cleared out the study today to make way for the new floor Brad is going to lay. Unfortunately we still need 5 packets of timber floor, which we apparently can't get now. The code is different which means the colour is different. We have a couple of places checking it out for us, but it doesn't sound promising. We could have had the study floor laid by the end of this week but probably not now.

Two toilets

We officially have two toilets, two basins and two showers that work. Master plumber Keller was kind enough to connect the water and voile there was working plumbing things. The toilet is fine to use along with the basin but we really should get a shower screen built before launching into the en suite fully.

Alicia's room is almost complete

We have curtins in Alicias room and it certainly makes it look more girlie. I had been contemplating it for a few weeks and was reluctant because I didn't want to drill holes in the wall.

Well I found some really cool curtins and its exactly what I had in mind. They are purple see through with little glittery sequin things on it. Which light up different colours when you turn the light on.

Perfect, I must say. Alicia likes them a lot too.

I hope you get the idea from the photos.

The Front Door is complete

I didn't think that I acted prematurely the other day when I commented on the front door, but obviously I did. You may or may not have known that I had ordered a security door, about two weeks ago. Well today he rang me to let me know that it was finished and basically insisted that it be put up tonight. So there he was when I finished work, assembling and installing the door. Was I excited??? You bet I was. It looks beautiful, I think and is certainly a welcomed addition to the addition. (think about it).

Tell me what you think?

The Front Door

The Front Door is finished. I only have to remove the paper from the windows and we are done.
From this:

To this:
We had to get a move on because I have ordered a security door. Thank god. That is something that I have wanted for a long time. Another thing off the list. Too bad doors have two sides. Yeah, thats right! Damn!

The House is taking shape

You don't realise how much better a house looks with skirtings and architraves. When you are used to not having them and then, there they are, its an amazin difference. The only room completely finished (in terms of skirtings) is Ewans. Mind you he didn't mind so much, because he got to play cubby house in the family room whilst the glue stopped smelling. He was not a happy camper when he woke up mysteriously one morning in his room. Never mind. The dining room is mostly done, The passage is basically done and Alicias room is sort of done. Well you get the picture.
So instead of having 45 items left on the house list, we have actually been able to remove 3 and 3/4. We have bi-fold doors hanging for the ensuite and walk in robe and Brad actually laid out the floor tiles for the ensuite. It looks really really cool. We are moving ahead again, much to Brads annoyance (cause he still can't play car) but he did play motor bikes a couple of weekends ago and came to the conclusion he is getting old. Or....maybe that was me.
Eventually I will put another photo up, so everyone can see the progress.
