Terrible 2's have arrived
Epipen

If someone has an epipen, you wouldn't think it should be hard, getting another one, once the expiry date has lapsed. Well it is. For those of you who don't know what an epipen is, its a needle with adrenalin in it, so if someone is having an anaphylaxis episode, you jab them and they are supposed to be better. Well Ewan is allergic to nuts and will need this epipen if something happens. The one he has has expired. I hoped that I would just need to go to the chemist and get another one, but noooooo. I need an authority and they aren't easy to get. I tried to call the immunology centre at the Flinders but they aren't working this afternoon, so I can't speak to his allergy doctor. The general doctor is unavailable also which basically means to get an epipen it will cost me over $100 instead of $30.
It is all sorting itself out and the chemist is being really good but I want to know what happens in years and years time when Ewan doesn't need to see the immunologist but his epipens expire. It sounds stupid to think that he needs a prescription every time, however he won't grow out of the nut allergy which means he will need the epipen for the rest of his life. Its just one of those things that you have to deal with and eventually Ewan will have to deal with. I just hope he goes through the rest of his life, not having to use the epipen at all.
Toilet Training
I've forgotten what its like to toilet train. You having to remember to ask if they need to go to the toilet every 5mins. We've had some bad days and some good days, but nothing prepares you for the first poop in the knickers. Ohhh that was gross. She certainly doesn't like her nappy anymore and protests aggressively when I try and put it on. On the flip side, it sure would be nice, not having to buy nappies anymore. Lets do this Alicia.

The study is half complete
We are a creative family
We must have been in a mood
The things we do
Our kids will not be able to grow up and say that their childhood was boring. Brad will make sure of this.
Why is it, that we were standing out the front of our house the other night, watching Brad throw around a parachute man. There we were, all of us, in our pyjama's with our dressing gowns on (because we are freezing) watching brad, untangle this object. Ewan was fine, he had the torch but unfortunately it was never shining in the right spot. Many questions come to mind, whilst writing this. Why didn't we do this out the back? Why couldn't we wait until the next day at daylight? What possessed us? Brad did. There you have it.
The things we do.

Mum has retired
Mum has finally retired. This will take a lot of getting used to for her and dad. I'm not sure what you are supposed to feel, especially when you have worked fulltime for at least 33 years in the same company. She seemed to be okay on Friday. At least they made a big deal about it. The press row even gave her some flowers and a present, the maintenance man even gave her a card. I'm glad they made a big deal because it would be very disappointing if they didn't. Know doubt she will speak to them again very soon. In the meantime, they have a full week planned. No caravan trips yet.
Ewan is always sleeping
The piano was the culprit
There is nothing worse than being woken up in the middle of the night, especially if its by Ewans piano with the worse rhythms inbuilt you could ever imagine. This is what happened the other night. Unbelievably Ewan didn't even wake up. When I went into his room to find the source of the music, he was facing the wrong way ie head down the feet end. He had actually tapped the piano with his foot, that is why it was set off. Moral of the story make sure that the piano is turned off before going to bed.
