Bay to Birdwood
We registered and went in the Bay to Birdwood again this year. It's an event that occurs every 2 years because there are too many 'old' cars to view. This year there was a record 1800 cars and they even turned cars away. Unbelievable. The drive is always nice but it had rained, so Birdwood Motor Museum grounds, weren't too inviting. The kids eventually had had enough (as you can see from the photo) and we travelled home. Both of them fell asleep, the lucky ducks and be the time we got home, I was exhausted. Its a good day out, but very tiring.
Ewan turns 7
Hey, hey. He's arrived, only just. Ewan turned 7 yesterday and it was a momentous occasion. Well, any kids birthday is, really. He had fun, away from home, inviting some friends and family to the video arcade Intencity. They played hard on the arcade games for 1 1/2 hours. The most time consuming thing was to pick the prizes at the end.
The arcade was followed by dinner with the family. We haven't had a full get together for a while and it was really good to have everyone over. Tea was delicious, (it would have been, I didn't cook) and the company was even better. Everyone complied with my request of a family photo, but they are so used to it now that they just do as I say. I especially love the family photos.

Crazy hair day
Holiday at West Beach caravan Park
We took a couple of days out, and went and stayed at the caravan Park. It is a huge park with 2 jumping pillows, (Ewan was doing forward somersaults) swimming pool, go kart hire and everything. The kids had a ball and got very sandy and very tired. They both love staying in a caravan, even though they shared a bed and Ewan fell out at least twice. They are both noisy sleepers (Deirdre will attest to that) and both very restless, as in move around a lot. The weather was bearable though it did get better and better. I'll give them a couple of days before they are pestering about the caravan again.
Alicia and her wisdom
Ewans philosophy
Painted faces Video
You can just tell that she will be an arteeest, one day. Ewan was a very co-operative model for the day
Sophie visits
Sophie and Cooper were back from Qatar for a holiday. They have been living in Qatar for a few months and it was their school holidays there, which last 10 weeks! So Lee (the mum) being an intelligent women decided to come back to Australia for a little bit. Better than trying to occupy them for 10 weeks!
The kids had a good time, playing dolls, playstation and trampoline. They were going 'off' on the trampoline. The photos are hysterical. It was good to see them. Sophie has got so much more confidence now. They obviously like it over there, there is so much to do and see. And because everything is so different, its a lot to take in.

Wiggly Worms
Its been a really long time, since we went to Wiggly Worms. But for something different Alicia and I went. We asked along Aunty Leanne and Cameron, so everyone had a buddy. We were there for a couple of hours and in that time, the kids accomplished everything, including getting messy whilst eating a cup cake. Cameron even went to the very top of the play gym and then slid down the spiral slide. Very adventurous. I'm glad they had a good time and at least it wears them out. Alicia was very tired by the time she got home.

Chocolate cake mix Yum.
Now, I don't make cakes at all usually. But we were going to visit friends, and I thought a cake made, instead of a cake bought would be nice. Much to my disgust, we found out that Alicia likes to lick the bowl. Whenever I had made cakes in the past, I always asked Ewan if he would like a try and thankfully he always said, no, hence I had the bowl to myself. This is the first time ever, that Alicia has licked the bowl and by the looks of it, it won't be the last. Damn. I don't like to share, especially if I'm putting in all the effort. Its funny to see the change in expression from Alicia from, I don't think I'll like it to, why didn't I try this sooner. She couldn't lick it up fast enough.
Kicking the sock around
I haven't laughed so hard in ages. In my mind, it doesn't seem to be the right thing, to encourage your children to kick a sock around in the house, late at night. Not one thing in that sentence is very good. But there we were doing exactly what we shouldn't be. In a way, though, it reminds me, that I'm not taking life too seriously, like I was a couple of years ago. You can miss out on a lot of enjoyment with your kids when you restrict everything.
Brad had the foresight to copy it on the camera and Ewan was getting pretty good at it. Actually its Poppa we can blame for the recklessness, he started it. ha ha ha
Graduating from Auskick
Whilst mum and I were in Melbourne, Ewan had his last Auskick session. It was at this, that he was presented with a participation medal and a certificate. The kids also played a round of football which challenged the parents. The kids won 10 to 3, Ewan was more excited about winning the game against the parents than the medal in particular. Its probably another thing we will incorporate into his sporting year. I don't think he's ready to play football seriously with a club. Whether he will be ever, I doubt it. He prefers to ride his bike and do his taekwondo. But doing something for 9 weeks can be fun and at least it comes to an end.
The circus is in town
Having not been to the circus, myself, in quite a number of years, I thought it would be cool to go. I asked Ewan and Alicia and both said yes with puzzling looks on their faces. So I asked Ewan, "What do you think the circus is"? Ewans reply, "Its when monkeys get shot out of canons." So once I had finished my hysterical laughing, I was able to ask Alicia the same question. Her standard response to anything is "I don't know". So why would I expect anything different in this situation. She didn't disappoint.
Brad and I explained what the circus was, and what you normally could see there. They were very interested. We went with Cameron and Leanne and Cameron wasn't really too sure what to think. He was very quiet but as it turns out, he really did like the circus and didn't want to miss anything.
Its good to expose the kids to different things. They all enjoyed it, as did the adults

Slideshow of some beautiful photos

My Aunty Mary sent me an email with the slideshow attached. I have given you the link. They are some of the best photos I've seen and certainly makes me appreciate Mother Nature a little more.

Where did you go?
Where did I go, you ask? Well..my mummy and me went tripping off to Melbourne last weekend, specifically to see the musical 'Wicked' and unspecifically to shop. It was a really great weekend, and mum loved it aswell.
We started the day early, with a 7.05am plan trip. By the time we arrived in Melbourne, get to the hotel, dropped our bags, it was time for brunch. And besides who can shop properly on an empty stomach. Once feasting was over, we took off for the closest DFO and proceeded to quietly manoeuvred around the ample shopping. We eventually arrived back at the hotel at almost 3.30pm. A pretty good innings.
What shall we do now, rest of course, then shower, change, eat again and prepare to be dazzled by one of the best musicals we've seen ever. It was magical and spellbinding. And funnily enough you feel really bad for the Wicked Witch of the West, now you know the full story. If we could, we would have watched it another night. If it comes to town, we will be there.
We shopped the next day and lunched as usual and then before we boarded the plane, grabbed our Krispy Kremes and flew back to Adelaide.
A well deserved break for all. Except Brad of course, who got, 'Nothing done, all weekend.' Its not as easy as it looks is it honey.

Crows Night
Ewan has been doing Auskick for a few weeks now and the other night along with everyone else, we were invited to the Crows night. Well Ewan has picked his team and he likes the Crows, so off we all went, down to the Crows shed. The aim of the night is for the kids to see the players, get autographs and eat mountains of pies. We did the first 2 things. It was actually a really good night. I really didn't want to go, but Alicia did and there's no way Brad could handle those 2 in that environment by himself. Ewan got a lot of autographs, mostly from players he didn't know but it was all fun. His jersey is nearly full. He is impressed.
Ewan visited by the tooth fairy
Ewan was finally visited by the toothfairy on Sunday. He had a wobbly tooth for a few weeks but nothing seemed to progress. It finally happened whilst eating a packet of chips and at the time he didn't realise what had happened. He actually took the tooth out of his mouth and threw it away onto the floor. He quickly realised it was his tooth and he was really excited. I on the otherhand wasn't sure what to do. It was bleeding but not too much, I didn't know whether to be motherly and get a tissue or be really excited along with everyone else. So I opted for a quick excitement plan and then a motherly concern with the tissue. Anyway it worked a treat.
Ewan was lucky enough to get an unusual 50 cent piece. Brad on the otherhand thought the tooth fairy was stingey. Well Ewan thought it was cool and thats all that matters.
