Ewans annoying habit
Ewan has developed a habit of singing in the morning. He wakes up in the morning, and proceeds to lay in bed whilst singing. I have no idea what he's singing but he does it at the top of his voice and that is our morning alarm. It is not pleasant nor enjoyable to be woken in this manner. I hope he grows out of it very quickly or I will have to invest in singing lessons.

The playground
Alicia, Ewan and I went to the playground yesterday, mainly to burn off some steam so they wouldn't be so painful in the afternoon. One thing I noticed was the lack of playground play by Ewan. He was more interested in climbing the trees. Now, I know he likes to climb trees because the child care workers are always telling me this and that he has been told off AGAIN for climbing the tree. I experienced it first hand yesterday and it was a funny thing to see. Why do boys do this, I do not understand. Just another of lifes mysteries. See, its not all about us girls.
When a tree is unattainable, a wall will do just as well. Check out the photo. He got up there himself.

The diva and her bubblebath
Another one bites the dust
Another friend of Ewans has turned 5 and is getting ready for school. It was a fairy party and Carla has done another good job with invites, decorations, lolly bags, food and the cake. All the kids had a good time and I have to say so did the adults.
Slowly but surely all of Ewans friends from child care are embarking on their new challenge - School and so far there haven't been too many dramas.

Alicia loves the hairdryer
What 2 year old likes having their hair dried by a hairdryer? Well Alicia has discovered the dryer and would prefer her hair styled after it has been washed. I don't know where she gets it from, I hate blow drying my hair but I don't mind when other people do it, maybe thats the attraction. Where do we go from here.

Tenting inside
We have a tent in our lounge room. It has been there since Monday night. This is Brads idea. I mean who else what have thought of it. Ewan thought it was an excellent choice and grabbed hold of the idea with both hands. It will not be a permanent fixture in our lounge but it has been a distraction for a few days. Brad and his bright ideas.
Alicia buries herself
Alicia is in her bed and she has a tendency to bury herself deep in the covers. She is not a morning person and I can see us having massive issues when she becomes teenagerish. When Brad tries to wake her in the morning, she pulls the covers over her head and she tries to ignore him. She even says, "NO" She must be woken slowly and easily without loud noises. She has no problem with me waking her because I sing nice and softly, lyrically but Brad is not so considerate.

Learning about helium the hard way
This is Ewan at his best. We got two helium balloons from Wiggly Worms and explained to Ewan that he couldn't take them outside because they would fly way, way up into the sky. You guessed it, he took Alicias outside and then proceeded to let it go accidentally. He was most upset and wanted us to get it back. What could we do but explain the situation again and let him learn from his mistakes. Luckily Alicia didn't realise it was hers and was completely amazed that the balloon could go that high. The photo actually has the balloon in it somewhere but now I can't find it.
Ducks in the pool
Thursday, September 06, 2007
You know spring has arrived when....
You arrive home and there are ducks lounging around and in the pool
Your nose runs for days and days, your mouth and eyes are itchy and you can’t stop sneezing
The magpies dive bomb you because you are a little too close
The weeds grow within a week
The days feel longer because the sun is out longer
The kids have antibiotics for the first time in ages - they have hayfever
